Quick Fix: Balancing Your View in Revu

July 23, 2012

Revu is oftentimes thought of as a fully-stocked drafting table or toolbox. Everything you need is right in front of you.  It even comes with what we like to call MultiView technology, and it’s probably one of Revu’s most powerful viewing features.

When working in Revu you can use its MultiView technology to split your screen up to 16 times, enabling you to view multiple PDFs side by side at the same time, just as you could with printed drawings. But, did you know there is also a trick for equally balancing the size of all your views?  Some may choose to resize them manually, but there is another quick fix that can save you a lot of time.  Here’s how it works:

To split your screen, simply click one of the “MultiView” buttons located on the lower left hand side of your screen.

Now, let’s say you want to view three PDFs or views side by side. You have to choose one view to split, so now you should have one view taking up 50 percent of the screen with the other two views taking up 25 percent of the screen.

Or, perhaps you want to have an even number of views (like four), but instead of splitting the view that is taking up 50 percent of the screen, you split one of the 25 percent views. Regardless of how you got here, the point is you now have an unbalanced view.

Yes, it’s true that you can manually resize unbalanced views by selecting and dragging the side bar over, but there is also a shortcut – simply hit “Shift F12.”  This instantly balances all views equally within seconds.

Finally, if you really want to make your life easier, you can also equally balance your views by simply clicking on the “Balance” button located under the “Window” tab.

Let me know if you found this to be helpful or if you have any comments, and remember to keep on PDFin’.

Bluebeam Represents at Global RallyCross Championships in New Hampshire

July 20, 2012

The Global RallyCross season is in high gear! Last Saturday, Bluebeam held a special event at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon for the Sylvania SilverStar zXe Global RallyCross Championships. Bluebeamers, Bluebeam customers, and family mixed and mingled while enjoying the races that included a lot of excitement, contact and near misses among the racers. While our rally car driver, Topi Heikkeinen, was unable to compete as he is recovering from injuries, he was with us in spirit as we enjoyed a thrilling day of rally racing. Here are some of the sights from the event:

The course for the race was nearly one mile long and featured a 70-foot gap jump and a table-top jump. Many of the racers commented that this was the best out of the three tracks provided by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. so far this season.  In the end, Travis Pastrana found some luck and walked away with the win.

In addition to watching the races, the Bluebeam crew was also treated to a behind-the-scenes meet and great with the Ford/OMSE rally team.

Stay tuned for news about upcoming races. And remember, to keep on PDFin’

Bluebeam Software Issues Statement in Support of its Rally Car Driver, Toomas Heikkinen, Following X-Games Accident

July 16, 2012

RUIZ2566

As many Bluebeam customers know, Bluebeam is sponsoring Finnish Rally Car driver Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen this year as he makes his Global RallyCross debut. In June at the X-Games, Topi suffered a fractured ankle after crashing his Ford Fiesta rally car while attempting a 70-foot jump during practice runs. In response to his accident, Bluebeam President and CEO, Richard Lee, issued the following statement:

“Topi, his family and teammates are in our thoughts as he recovers from the injuries he sustained during the X-Games,” said Lee. “Throughout the Global RallyCross season, Topi has demonstrated that he is a fearless, no limits competitor. Topi is a part of the Bluebeam family and we know that his winning spirit and competitive edge will help him recover quickly from this accident. We are looking forward to his full recovery and seeing him back on the track.”

In addition to Topi’s accident last month, teammate Marcus Grönholm was injured during practice runs the following Saturday.

“We would also like to extend our thoughts and best wishes to Topi’s teammate, Marcus Grönholm and his family,” added Lee. “I had the honor of working with Marcus last year, and have admired his skill and love for rally ever since. We at Bluebeam are wishing him a healthy and speedy recovery.”

Bluebeam will have a virtual booth where we will be on-hand to answer your questions via the live booth chat, and with the recent release of Revu 10 and the Bluebeam Revu iPad app hitting the Apple App Store earlier this week, we will have plenty to talk about.
