Bluebeamers Dress Up for the AAa/e Annual Awards Banquet

by

What a night!

Yesterday was the Asian American Architects and Engineers (AAa/e) Association’s Annual Awards Banquet. The theme of this sold-out event was “Visions of Change,” and the evening celebrated the incredible impact that Southern California architects and engineers have made in our community.

Bluebeam was a sponsor of the event, and a handful of us attended. My coworker Sasha and I even had a chance to meet the keynote speaker, Rear Admiral Wayne “Greg” Shear, Jr., CEC, USN.

I tweeted throughout the night (see the Bluebeam Twitter Feed), sharing tid-bits from the keynote speech and also details about how the awards banquet went green. I also took a lot of photos:

I think Bluebeamers clean up pretty nicely.

One aspect that made the banquet a green event was that tables were decorated with non-floral, reusable centerpieces.

Rear Admiral Shear was the keynote speaker. My favorite line from his speech: “Architects and engineers don’t wait for the future to happen; they build the future.”

Thanks to the event organizers for hosting a great evening! Have a good weekend everyone, and remember to keep on PDF’ing!
