Greenbuild 2009 Recap

November 24, 2009

This year at Greenbuild, Bluebeam Software exhibited to share a simple message with attendees: communication based on PDF, and not paper, is a greener practice that should be implemented into green building projects.

But in true Bluebeam fashion, we went all out to find a fun and unique way to get the word out. May I present Exhibit A?

Mighty Bluebeam

The Mighty Bluebeam makes going paperless fun!

That’s right! We unveiled the Mighty Bluebeam, dubbed “the world’s greatest paper eliminator,” to help attendees see that project communication really should be digital, and not paper-based. Not only is this a greener way to share information, but more time-efficient and effective, too.

The great news is that Greenbuild attendees agreed. We met with so many designers, engineers and contractors – all looking for ways to banish the Paper Pusher from their projects. And they were so happy to seek refuge with the Mighty Bluebeam and his paper-fighting PDF editor, Bluebeam PDF Revu, as demonstrated in Exhibit B, the Greenbuild Highlights video:

Want to see more? Then check out our Greenbuild Flikr slideshow, which includes photos of our ED+C Readers’ Choice Award, and the Green Exhibitor Award we won for incorporating sustainable elements into our booth.

Pretty cool, huh? Well trust me, when it comes to Bluebeam and fun trade shows, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Thanks for reading our Greenbuild wrap up, and remember to keep on PDFin’!

Praise for the Mighty Bluebeam

November 18, 2009

I have to tell you, I’m on quite a Bluebeam high. Last week I had a fantastic time meeting with Bluebeam users and attendees at Greenbuild. And this week, I returned to the office to see all sorts of wonderful user feedback forwarded to me by my coworkers in Account Services and Tech Support. Here are some of my favorites:

“If I were to pinpoint one feature in Bluebeam that I find the most useful, it would be the Tool Chest. It allows quick and easy customization of editing that is not available in Acrobat.”
-Kubo

“I have to say that Bluebeam PDF Revu is easily the best PDF software I have ever used from both an interface and stability point of view (as contrasted to Adobe, FoxIt, and PDF Annotator, all of which I have used extensively).”
-David

“I love you guys!!! With out a doubt the best experience I have ever had with a software company, and I haven’t even purchased yet! Placing my order tomorrow, and telling everyone I come in contact with that if they work with PDFs, Bluebeam is King.”
-Frank

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, and remember you can always send your comments (positive or not) to me. And remember to keep on PDFin’!

I just returned from Greenbuild, where we met with a lot of attendees who are looking to blast their project documents to PDF and go paperless. I’ll post more about that later. But first, I wanted to share with you these fun pictures from Greenbuild.

Thanks for everyone who visited us, and remember to keep on PDFin’!

Bluebeam users are awesome

November 10, 2009

Bluebeam received some pretty exciting news on Monday. We won the software category for Environmental Design + Construction’s (ED+C) 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards!

ED+C Award

You did it! We won!

Obviously, we wouldn’t have won had it not been for the support of awesome users like you who flocked to ED+C’s website to vote for Bluebeam. And for that, we are very thankful.

In case you didn’t know, we’ll be at Greenbuild throughout the week. So, if there are any PDF Insider readers attending the show, come on down to our booth (#4524) and say “Hi” so we can thank you in person. Just ask for Karen.

This is what I look like.

Thanks again for helping us win this very cool award. And remember to keep on PDFin’!

Listen to the latest Bluebeam Podcast to discover what we’ll be doing at Greenbuild, and learn more about that guy up above in blue tights.
