The Power’s Out at Bluebeam’s East Coast Office

October 31, 2011

If you need to call Bluebeam today, stick with dialing up our west coast offices. Trust me. Nearly 3 million homes and businesses are still without power after last weekend’s record-breaking east coast snowstorm. And one of those businesses is Bluebeam’s east coast office.

So, if you need to reach Bluebeam, give us a ring in California at 626-296-2140 or 866-496-2140.

To our east coast Bluebeamers and friends – stay safe and warm! We hope you’ll be back online soon.

Bluebeam Takes on Toronto for Greenbuild 2011

October 27, 2011

This year Greenbuild was held a month earlier than normal and in a whole new country – Canada! But that didn’t stop Team Bluebeam from descending upon Toronto to spread the word that Revu makes project communication faster, paperless and green. And, if spreading our paperless message wasn’t enough, we also hosted two “Ask the Expert” events which were lead by some of our favorite users from DPR Construction and McCarthy Building Companies. Here’s a look at some Bluebeam highlights from the show:

Greenbuild 2011 was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the shadows of the CN Tower. I’ve been to the top of it…it’s really, really tall.

Caffeine? Check.

Revu 9 wowed the crowds with its abilities to make project communication digital and paperless.

Representatives from DPR Construction and McCarthy Building Companies joined us in our booth to share how they use Revu.

On Wednesday, October 5th, Nathan from DPR met with attendees to share how the builder uses Revu’s collaboration feature, Studio, to host live shop drawing review meetings with remote project partners.

On Thursday, October 6th, Mike from McCarthy Building Companies shared how they use Bluebeam to manage documentation for entire projects. Check out the white paper and webinar for more details.

All in all, Greenbuild provided us with a great opportunity to say hello to old friends and meet with future Bluebeamers.

Next year, Greenbuild and Bluebeam will journey to the City by the Bay – San Francisco.  Be sure to let us know if you’re attending, and remember to keep on PDFin’!

Be the Face of Revu

October 24, 2011

Revu users have always been the type to get things done. They use Revu to work smarter, push the limits and set new expectations. And they have a whole lot of fun in the process.

Well, now it’s time to represent. Bluebeam is launching a new campaign, and it’s all about you.

Show the world how Bluebeam PDF Revu helps you rock your job. Join our Faces of Revu: 2012 campaign and you just might be featured in our advertisements. Here’s how:

  • Send us your best shot. Email us a photo of you to use. We want to make sure you look good, so send us a high-resolution jpg or tif that is at least 3000 x 2000 pixels. Your picture should be taken waist up and against a solid background, like these:

  • Let us get to know you. Share your name, age, title, the Revu product you use and your favorite features.
  • Tell us who you really are. Wow us with your unique hobby or fact about you.
  • Leave a number. We’ve got to be able to call you if your entry is chosen for print.

Send your submission to us at facesofrevu@bluebeam.com. We’ll be sharing entries on this special campaign website, and a few lucky submissions will be used in our print and online ads.

Got questions? Let me know. And remember, to keep on PDFin’!

New Video – Revu’s Best Practices for Hyperlinking

October 21, 2011

We know that quite a few of you have found our robust hyperlinking feature to be an invaluable tool for digitally managing your project drawings and documents. In fact, McCarthy detailed their success in this white paper. We also know that there are some Bluebeam users looking to replicate these results, and need some help getting started.

Well, look no further! We’ve recently put together a video on the best practices for hyperlinking from within Revu. Check it out on our YouTube page.

Happy hyperlinking, and remember to keep on PDFin’!

Cool News Resources for Bluebeam Users

October 14, 2011

I’m back from maternity leave (it’s a boy!) and returning to my life of PDFin’. And upon my return I saw that Bluebeam had quite the busy summer – with a VIP rally day event, Vision Award Win and speaking sessions.

One of the coolest things to happen over the past few months, though, is the addition of some new technical documents to help you do more with Bluebeam PDF Revu! Check ‘em out:

During Sasha’s session “Tools to Improve Collaboration and Efficiencies,” she will discuss how technology can be used to enhance collaboration and improve communication during all aspects of a project from design through close-out. Participants will learn to leverage technology for electronic collaboration using the cloud, examine a case study, and get to watch a live online collaboration demo.
