AIA 2012 Event Report: Bluebeam shows architects that ‘anything is possible’

May 31, 2012

A few weeks ago, team Bluebeam took on Washington, D.C. for the 2012 AIA National Convention and Expo. Armed with three new products – Revu 10, Bluebeam Vu iPad, and Bluebeam Vu Windows – we knew that AIA would be a great opportunity to show attending architects that anything is possible when you digitize your workflows with Bluebeam.

To help spread the word, we took over all the ad space at the DC Metro’s Mt. Vernon station – located conveniently at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where AIA was being held.

A Bluebeam ad overlooking the DC Metro station platform.

A high-level view of Bluebeam’s “station domination.”

Charged by the buzz these ads generated, team Bluebeam had a fantastic time demonstrating our latest products to AIA attendees in our newly updated trade show booth.

There was lots of energy in the Bluebeam booth.

AIA was a great opportunity to share how anything is possible when you digitize design reviews, RFIs responses, punchlists and more with Bluebeam’s PDF-based solutions.

A lot of attendees were really interested in learning more about digitizing their workflows with Revu and Vu.

Attendees were especially interested in Revu 10’s new 3D PDF capabilities. Revu users can now markup 3D views, and Revu CAD and Revu eXtreme users can create 3D PDFs from Revit, Navisworks Manage and Navisworks Simulate.

Of course, AIA wasn’t all work and no play. At Bluebeam, we love to eat tasty food, especially local delicacies. So, we ate mussels. Every day.

A slice of mussel pizza at Pizzeria Paridiso. Mmmmmm.

All in all, AIA was a great show. Thank you to everyone who visited us at our booth. And remember, to keep on PDFin’!

Bluebeam’s new rally car driver shows off his hard-hitting moves at the Global RallyCross season opener

May 30, 2012

The Global RallyCross racing season is in full gear, and Bluebeam’s new rally car driver – Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen – is already making a name for himself on the track.

Topi showing off his Bluebeam rally car earlier this month in Pasadena, CA.

Topi, a young, up and coming rally racer from Finland, showed off his fierce driving skills at the RallyCross season opener at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26th in Charlotte, NC. He was the third to cross the finish line – an impressive feat for his GRC debut. However, Topi’s gritty moves and aggressive driving earned him a black flag, resulting in a 10th place overall finish. While Topi didn’t make the podium, he definitely earned a name for himself, letting his RallyCross competitors know that he is a force to be reckoned with.

Topi is in it to win it.

If you missed the race, check out this highlight video on, or read this race overview. Topi’s next shot at the podium will be June 9th at the Texas Motor Speedway. Until then, follow Topi on Facebook to stay up to date with his quest for a first place finish. And remember, to keep on PDFin’.

Revu 10 Now Localized in Five Languages

May 9, 2012

Today’s the day! While Revu 10 was launched last March with features that push the limits of collaboration, cloud storage and project communication, many of our European users have been patiently waiting to get their hands on a local copy of the software. For Revu users in the Nordics and Germany, the wait is over.

Revu 10 is now available in Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and German. What’s more – Bluebeam’s new PDF Viewer, Bluebeam Vu, is also available in these languages. Now, Revu users in the Nordics and Germany can host Bluebeam Studio sessions for real-time collaboration, and their project partners can participate for free by using a localized copy of Vu.

Later this month Bluebeam will be announcing the Spanish version of Revu 10 and – for the first time – we will also be releasing Revu in Dutch, French and Italian! Stay tuned for more details, and remember to keep on PDFin’!
