MNI Logo 200 x 200 pixels (3)Meyer Najem is continuously looking for ways to differentiate themselves and lead by example as one of the top construction firms in the Midwest. And being so committed to green building and the adoption of advanced technology, it’s no surprise that Bluebeam Revu would become its go-to tool for taking workflows digital.

With help from their software reseller, 2×4 Technologies, Meyer Najem has fully integrated Bluebeam Revu to digitize a number of processes, including reviewing and marking up project plans as well as creating construction documents that can instantly be distributed to their field teams, and they are continuing to find new ways to expand Revu’s use.

For instance, the firm recently started using Revu to enhance its contract approval process between itself and its sub-contractors, a task that had always proven to be time-consuming and paper-intensive, not to mention costly. To demonstrate this further, here’s a graphical representation of how Meyer Najem used to approach this process step-by-step:

Now with Revu, all contracts are being transmitted electronically. First, Revu is used to print contracts to PDF. Second, the appropriate forms (created in Revu Extreme) and exhibits are added along with digital signature fields. These PDF contracts are then electronically transmitted to sub-contractors, who can complete form fields and digitally sign them by obtaining or creating a Digital ID using Revu, a 30-day trial of Revu or other PDF editing solution with digital signature capabilities. The signed contract is then uploaded to a designated project website or sent via email to Meyer Najem, who then countersigns the PDF and transmits a finalized PDF copy of the contract to the sub-contractor for their records.

PDF contracts can be easily signed using Revu’s digital signatures feature.

By moving to a digital process, Meyer Najem has reduced printing and shipping costs of contracts by 92% while also being able to receive signed contracts on average 75% faster, and that’s only for digitizing this single process. Overall, since integrating Revu into their workflows the company has reduced paper usage and related costs up to 85% – a figure that not only has a positive impact on Meyer Najem’s bottom-line, but the building Owners it serves as well.

What a great example of Revu in action! Thanks for sharing, Meyer Najem! To learn how to put Revu’s digital signature capabilities to work for you, check out the “Security & More” video and related PDF tutorials here on Bluebeam University. And remember to keep on PDFin’.
