New Features Now Available in Revu iPad and Vu

February 26, 2014

Now that Revu 12 is here, we have some exciting news for all you iPad users! Revu iPad 2.4 and Vu 2.4 are available for download on the Apple App store and include new features that make it easier than ever to work in the field. The latest release of Revu iPad contains some key updates found in Revu 12, including the ability to embed multiple photos into your markups from your camera, photo library or document manager with the Capture tool. The new Radius tool lets you quickly take radius measurements on the jobsite, while Perimeter and Area measurements now include a Depth parameter for calculating Wall Area and Volume. We’ve also introduced improved grouping functionality with SmartGroup™ measurement summation, so grouped markups will display accurate measurement values for all markups within a group. And, you can now add, delete and edit replies to markups in the Markups list.

In addition, Vu iPad, our free PDF viewer, has also been updated with the new Capture feature and SmartGroup support; plus, it now allows you to view comment threads for markups in the Markups list. The complete release notes are available on our website.

Have questions about these releases? Feel free to comment here, or post in the Bluebeam Community Forum. You can also visit our  iPad Resources page to access video tutorials of the features included in this and previous releases.

Until next time,

California-Based Bluebeamers Brave the Cold on “The Road to Revu 12”

February 6, 2014

This week our “Road to Revu 12” team is in Chicago, IL, where we’re having a great time visiting with customers and exploring the Windy City, despite the cold temps. So far we’ve had a lot of fun checking out some of Chicago’s famous landmarks, like the Cloud Gate (a.k.a. “The Bean”) sculpture in Millennium Park, and hanging out with customers such as Goettsch Partners, who shared how they are using Revu to design the public spaces for the renovation of one of the city’s most historic buildings.

Chicago Visit

A visit to “The Bean” / Customers get a sneak preview of Revu 12

Yesterday’s adventures concluded with a fun evening at the Ivy Room, where we hosted a complimentary Revu 12 launch party. Attendees were treated to a sneak preview of some of the new features to come, and judging from their responses, we know you’re going to love them too!

Speaking of new features, if you can’t wait to find out what’s in store when Revu 12 launches later this month, you can check out our video recap of last week’s trip to Washington, D.C., where customers who got a first look at Revu 12 shared a mutual love of one of the new features. You’ll also see highlights from our customer visits, including Forrester Construction at the CoreSite Data Center project and Shalom Baranes Associates architects, who are using Revu to keep their punch process running smoothly on the CityCenter project in the heart of D.C.

Be sure to keep visiting  for additional video updates every week—including a video recap of this trip to Chicago!

Until next time,
