Favorite Feature Friday: How Can I Keep Up With What’s Happening in Studio Sessions and Projects?

by

In case you didn’t hear, last week we had our annual Bluebeam eXtreme Conference. This year’s event took place in Hollywood, CA, and included two fabulously fun-filled days of learning, and some amazing conversations with our customers. We also revealed the new features of Revu 12.5 that had everybody buzzing. One of the most popular topics of discussion just happens to be my new favorite features, the Notifications and Alerts features within Studio. The reason I love these so much is because they really help you stay updated on any changes made by other attendees to Studio Sessions and Projects, which is especially helpful when you’re working in the field. Let’s take a closer look at how they work.

Notifications

Think of notifications as a helpful friend who’s making sure everyone is in the loop. Once notifications are enabled, you’ll start receiving emails with updates on things like:

  • Session and Project activity
  • Markup Alerts
  • Session Updates
  • Project Updates

Depending on what you’ve selected in the Studio Notification Preferences, you can receive daily summaries, or more regular updates. You can also choose which Sessions and Projects you’d like to receive notifications for.

Notifications Pref

Pretty awesome, huh?

Alerts

This really cool enhancement for Studio Sessions lets you send real-time alerts to other session attendees. Once the Session host has enabled Markup Alerts, the recipients will see the Notifications tab flashing at the bottom of the Bluebeam Studio panel. When they click on an alert, they’re taken straight to the markup within the file. After they’ve clicked on it, it will be greyed out, so you know they saw it and looked at it. Now if your Project Engineer says he has no idea what you’re talking about, you’ve got proof that he does. CYA, baby!

Alerts

Another great thing about this feature is that if you miss a Markup Alert notification email for some reason, you’ll see an indicator next to any Sessions with pending alerts the next time you log in.

Until next time,
