Celebrating Leadership at the 38th Annual AAa/e Awards Banquet

Last night, we were honored to attend the 38th Annual Asian American Architects and Engineers (AAa/e) Awards Banquet at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. It was another sold-out event this year, with the theme of “Innovate. Transform. Sustain,” in recognition of the exceptional leaders and inspirational trailblazers who shape and build the future.

California State Assemblyman Warren Furutani served as master of ceremonies for the evening’s festivities, which included several awards presentations to leaders in the Los Angeles Asian American and AEC community.

The event also included several scholarship award presentations, and we were proud to once again present the “Bluebeam eXtreme Scholarship” in partnership with the AAa/e. Our recipient this year was Ms. Boeun Kim, a student at Art Center College of Design who is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Product Design, with a focus on Universal Design.

We found Boeun’s work both unique and creative, and were impressed by her passion and thoughtful approach to helping this deserving segment of end users. For example, the adhesive bandage dispenser she designed for her entrance portfolio is intended to help those with fine motor skill or sight challenges easily dispense a pre-peeled, custom-sized bandage with a tap of a braille-labeled button.

We wish Boeun much success in her career and thank everyone at the AAa/e for working so hard to create such an enjoyable evening!

Until next time,
