Bluebeam Holds Its First Annual Internal Skills Challenge!

June 9, 2015

In case you haven’t heard, this year the Bluebeam eXtreme Conference will be holding a Skills Challenge, where competitors will get the chance to show off their “eXtreme” speed, accuracy and creativity in executing key industry workflows in Bluebeam Revu.

To help prepare, we held a trial run at Bluebeam headquarters in Pasadena, where four teams comprised of some of our finest Beamsters went head to head to prove who knows Revu best. With representation from Account Services, Tech Support, Product Management, Development, QA and our Channel team, the evening was action-packed! Each team was given three problems and a Surface Pro 3 to solve them. Tensions were high as they raced against the clock to complete them.

Luke and Chris emceed the festivities, and tried out their best jokes. It was a tough crowd!

Team “Motley Blue” working feverishly and looking stylish in the fabulous Bluebeam socks.

There was some major intensity going on with the “Green Monkeys.”

And their supporters could feel it!

“The Dynamic Trio” was focused, cool and collected…

…While “Orange is the New Black” looked in it to win it.

In the end, the Dynamic Trio took home the prize, which included Starbucks gift cards and some fabulous trophies.

Think you got the skills to compete at eXtreme? There’s still time to sign up your team to compete in July, so visit the eXtreme Conference site to learn more! The winning team members will take home Microsoft Surface Pro 3s, so what are you waiting for?

Chris is looking forward to seeing you at eXtreme! 🙂

On Friday, September 13th, we headed to Stockholm, Sweden for the 2013 International Rally Conference (IRC). It was so exciting to be joined by Bluebeam users from Sweden and all over the world, including the Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom, and even Australia. It was truly an international experience!

Throughout the morning, users attended various sessions on hot Bluebeam topics including mobility, creating dynamic document sets, APD (short for a Swedish word meaning workplace disposition plan), and measurements and estimation.

Then Bluebeam’s President and CEO, Richard Lee, took the stage to deliver a keynote focusing on the new features included in Bluebeam Revu 11.0, 11.5 and Revu iPad 2.0.

After a lunch break, the day continued with informative customer case study presentations from Skanska, Peab, Briab, and US-based Mortenson Construction.

The day wrapped up with a cocktail reception, where attendees had an opportunity to mingle and network with peers and Bluebeam staff.

Bluebeam’s Rallycross driver and 2013 Global Rallycross points leader, Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen, even stopped by to sign autographs and take photos.

The following day, attendees participated in an adrenaline-charged day of rally racing at Högsta race track, just 20 minutes outside of Stockholm’s city center. The day consisted of training stations, lunch, and timed trials to become the 2013 Bluebeam Rally Champion.

September 10, 2012

This past weekend, engineering, design and construction professionals from all over the U.S. joined Bluebeam for its second annual International Rally Conference (IRC) at the majestic Salish Lodge and Spa just outside of Seattle, Washington.  As expected, this year’s conference offered a rare learning experience, where attendees learned best practices for using Bluebeam Revu while also finding some time for a little competitive racing.

Day one was all about Revu with educational sessions led by Bluebeam’s top engineers as well as a number of real-world case studies from Bluebeam power users and industry experts, including Turner Construction Company, McCarthy Building Companies, Mortenson Construction, Zachry Construction Corporation, and Foster Wheeler Energy Limited.  On day two, we turned it up a notch by treating many of our guests to a rally car racing experience at the DirtFish Rally School.  A number of racers went in, but only one would exit the 2012 Bluebeam Rally Champion.
