The brainchild of organizers Cody Nowak and Kameron Burk, AECX is a grassroots endeavor aimed at profiling and sharing the technology and innovation currently redefining the landscape of the AEC industry. This first-of-its-kind event in the Los Angeles area helps to foster dialogue and discussion among notable panelists and industry insiders, offering an in-depth look at the AEC community to examine the trends, ideas and concepts shaping the future of the building industry.

This year’s event featured eight keynote speakers, 15 floor exhibits and 200 industry leaders participating from over 40 companies, and also kicked off the AEC Hackathon.

Panelists at this year’s AECX included Paul Doherty, keynote speaker and President and CEO of The Digit Group, Nathan Wood, Spectrum AEC Founder and Innovation Evangelist, and Damon Hernandez, AEC Hackathon Co-Founder, among other industry thought leaders. Curated and moderated by Bluebeam’s VP of Strategic Development, Sasha Reed, the panel discussions emphasized a collective need to share information for the greater good of the AEC community.

Attendees at the scenic USC Tower in downtown Los Angeles were treated to views of the burgeoning Los Angeles skyline, including in-progress projects from AECX corporate sponsors and speakers such as the massive 73-story Wilshire Grand project.

Much like the skyline itself, the AECX events exemplify the growth and promise of the future of the AEC industry, and Bluebeam was proud to be a participating sponsor of the 2016 AECX. Check back for Sasha Reed’s exclusive conversation with the AECX founders and notable panelists from this year’s event!
