{"id":80008,"date":"2021-08-12T10:01:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T08:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.bluebeam.com\/se\/?p=80008"},"modified":"2021-07-26T10:21:32","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T08:21:32","slug":"nuclear-fusion-construction-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.bluebeam.com\/se\/nuclear-fusion-construction-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Tekniken f\u00f6r k\u00e4rnfusion \u00e4r p\u00e5 g\u00e5ng \u2013 och med den f\u00f6ljer nya byggjobb"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Reaktorer som drivs av miniatyrstj\u00e4rnor som har h\u00e4mtats till jorden, rymdskepp som rusar mot interstell\u00e4ra m\u00e5l drivna av en outt\u00f6mlig energik\u00e4lla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det h\u00e4r kanske l\u00e5ter som science fiction, men forskare vid Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) s\u00e4ger sig vara mycket n\u00e4ra det f\u00f6rsta steget mot en radikalt annorlunda energiframtid d\u00e4r man utnyttjar k\u00e4rnfusionens enorma kraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genom ett samarbete mellan MIT och uppstartsf\u00f6retaget Commonwealth Fusion Systems i Massachusetts ska man i sommar b\u00f6rja bygga fusionstestreaktorn SPARC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om allt g\u00e5r som det ska skulle enligt forskarna ett fullskaligt, kraftproducerande fusionskraftverk, som h\u00e4rmar solens s\u00e4tt att generera energi samtidigt som koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen minskas till noll, kunna vara kopplat till eln\u00e4tet om bara ett drygt \u00e5rtionde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c4nd\u00e5 kan den h\u00e4r sci-fi-liknande ber\u00e4ttelsen f\u00e5 mycket jordn\u00e4ra konsekvenser f\u00f6r bygg- och ingenj\u00f6rsbranschen i hela USA och \u00f6vriga v\u00e4rlden. Den skulle leda till \u00f6kad efterfr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 en rad entrepren\u00f6rer och kunniga hantverkare, fr\u00e5n elektriker till snickare och r\u00f6rl\u00e4ggare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dFusion kan producera mycket mer energi \u00e4n vi beh\u00f6ver\u201d, s\u00e4ger&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/memphis\/search\/results?q=Ranganathan%20Gopalakrishnan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan<\/a>, professor i maskinteknik vid University of Memphis i Tennessee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDen skulle kunna bli v\u00e5r fr\u00e4msta energik\u00e4lla. Du har f\u00e5ngat en sol \u2013 d\u00e5 har du all energi du beh\u00f6ver\u201d, till\u00e4gger Ranganathan, som arbetar med ett eget forskningsprojekt om anv\u00e4ndningen av k\u00e4rnfusion f\u00f6r kraftgenerering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>N\u00e4rmare verkligheten<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c4ven om forskningen om k\u00e4rnfusion har p\u00e5g\u00e5tt i \u00e5rtionden, kan den senaste utvecklingen vid MIT signalera ett efterl\u00e4ngtat genombrott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>K\u00e4rnfusion replikerar den process som p\u00e5g\u00e5r inuti solen och andra stj\u00e4rnor d\u00e4r tv\u00e5 atomk\u00e4rnor sm\u00e4lter samman och d\u00e5 uts\u00f6ndrar enormt mycket energi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Till skillnad fr\u00e5n klyvning, som inneb\u00e4r att man delar atomen, genererar en fusionsreaktion relativt lite avfall, d\u00e5 v\u00e4teisotoperna sm\u00e4lter samman och bildar helium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I en k\u00e4rnfusionsreaktor skulle man anv\u00e4nda elektromagnetiska v\u00e5gor eller andra metoder f\u00f6r att framkalla en fusionsreaktion och v\u00e4rma upp en massa av brinnande plasma inuti anl\u00e4ggningens k\u00e4rna till temperaturer p\u00e5 s\u00e5 mycket som 100 miljoner grader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forskarna vid MIT har utvecklat en ny typ av supraledande h\u00f6gtemperatur- och h\u00f6gf\u00e4ltsmagnet som de tror skulle kunna l\u00f6sa ett l\u00e5ngvarig tekniskt problem med att bygga en fusionsreaktor: hur man h\u00e5ller den \u00f6verhettade plasman p\u00e5 plats och borta fr\u00e5n reaktorns v\u00e4ggar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De supraledande magneterna skulle i sin tur kunna bana v\u00e4g f\u00f6r betydligt mindre och billigare reaktorer \u00e4n vad man hade v\u00e4ntat sig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Den planerade testreaktorn SPARC kommer sannolikt att kosta en br\u00e5kdel av ITER-projektets 22 miljarder dollar (cirka 188 miljarder kronor). ITER \u00e4r en internationellt finansierad testreaktor f\u00f6r k\u00e4rnfusion som just nu byggs i Frankrike och som n\u00e4r den \u00e4r klar kommer att vara lika stor som en hockeystadion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vetenskapen bakom det MIT-ledda projektet beskrevs i sin helhet i september 2020 i form av sju forskningsdokument som publicerades i ett specialnummer av <em>Journal of Plasma Physics<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fyrtiosju forskare vid ett dussin olika institutioner redogjorde f\u00f6r \u201ddet nya fusionssystemets teoretiska och empiriska grund i fysiken\u201d, enligt en artikel publicerad av MIT News Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet h\u00e4r arbetet kan bli helt omv\u00e4lvande f\u00f6r det internationella fusionsprogrammet\u201d, skriver Chris Hegna, professor i teknisk fysik vid University of Wisconsin i Madison, i artikeln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>En energirevolution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>MIT-forskarna och det nystartade fusionsf\u00f6retaget CFS \u00e4r nu p\u00e5 jakt efter dussintals tunnland d\u00e4r de kan bygga sin testreaktor SPARC. S\u00f6kningen \u00e4r fr\u00e4mst inriktad p\u00e5 nord\u00f6stra USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commonwealth Fusion har skaffat finansiering p\u00e5 200 miljoner dollar (cirka 1,7 miljarder kronor) och \u00e4ven om man \u00e4nnu inte har meddelat n\u00e5gon plats planerar man prelimin\u00e4rt att b\u00f6rja bygga i juni 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om man lyckas med SPARC kan 2030-talet bli en vattendelare i v\u00e4rldshistorien genom utvecklingen av en ny, ren energik\u00e4lla som verkligen kan s\u00e4tta stopp f\u00f6r fossilbr\u00e4nslets utdragna, klimatf\u00f6r\u00e4ndrande epok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medan f\u00f6rnybara energik\u00e4llor som sol och vind f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas spela en viktig roll under \u00f6verg\u00e5ngen kan k\u00e4rnfusionen inneb\u00e4ra \u00e4nnu ett stort tekniskt framsteg som dramatiskt \u00f6kar m\u00e4ngden tillg\u00e4nglig energi p\u00e5 ett h\u00e5llbart s\u00e4tt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dVi har m\u00e5nga klimatutmaningar\u201d, s\u00e4ger Leo Holland, chef och r\u00e5dgivare p\u00e5 General Atomics. \u201dOm hundra \u00e5r kan vi beh\u00f6va mycket mer energi \u00e4n vad vi genererar idag. Om det beh\u00f6vs tre eller fyra g\u00e5nger mer energi per capita \u00e4n vad vi producerar nu, var ska vi f\u00e5 allt det ifr\u00e5n? K\u00e4rnfusion kan bli den k\u00e4lla vi beh\u00f6ver. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det h\u00e4r skulle kunna \u00f6ppna upp f\u00f6r nya m\u00f6jligheter inom allt fr\u00e5n koldioxidfri elproduktion till utforskning av rymden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Med finansiering fr\u00e5n NASA och andra organ unders\u00f6ker Princeton Satellite Systems Direct Fusion Drive-raketer som \u00e4r mycket snabbare \u00e4n till och med dagens mest avancerade framdrivningssystem. En resa till Saturnus skulle f\u00f6rkortas till tv\u00e5 \u00e5r, j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med de sju \u00e5r som den tog NASA:s rymdfarkost Cassini tidigt p\u00e5 2000-talet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En fungerande fusionsreaktor kan i sin tur leda till att man bygger elgenererande fusionskraftverk \u00f6ver hela landet och v\u00e4rlden n\u00e4r st\u00e4derna g\u00e5r \u00f6ver till den nya kraftk\u00e4llan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maskinerna inuti reaktorerna skulle kr\u00e4va specialiserade tillverkningstekniker, och enligt experterna skulle det medf\u00f6ra stor efterfr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 s\u00e5v\u00e4l el- och betongentrepren\u00f6rer som ingenj\u00f6rsf\u00f6retag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dN\u00e4stan alla st\u00f6rre st\u00e4der i landet och i v\u00e4rlden skulle vilja ha ett\u201d, s\u00e4ger Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan fr\u00e5n University of Memphis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det finns inga uppskattningar av hur m\u00e5nga byggjobb som skulle beh\u00f6vas f\u00f6r att bygga fusionsreaktorerna, men de traditionella klyvningsreaktorerna kan tj\u00e4na som en grov mall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e4r byggandet \u00e4r som mest intensivt kr\u00e4ver varje klyvningsanl\u00e4ggning upp till 3&nbsp;500 byggjobb, d\u00e4ribland snickare, elektriker, pl\u00e5tarbetare, murare, operat\u00f6rer av tung utrustning och r\u00f6rl\u00e4ggare enligt branschf\u00f6respr\u00e5karen Nuclear Energy Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medan energik\u00e4llan skulle vara revolutionerande skulle s\u00e4ttet att konstruera reaktorerna inte skilja sig dramatiskt fr\u00e5n dagens kraftverk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet s\u00e4tt som de \u00e4r konstruerade p\u00e5 \u00e4r inte unikt\u201d, s\u00e4ger Brandon Sorbom, CSO p\u00e5 Commonwealth Fusion Systems. Han noterar att fusion skulle utg\u00f6ra v\u00e4rmek\u00e4llan \u201df\u00f6r en arbetsv\u00e4tska som driver en turbin\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet inneb\u00e4r att vi kan dra nytta av befintlig infrastruktur, arbetskraft och byggf\u00f6retag som har erfarenhet av att bygga traditionella kraftverk och som enkelt kan g\u00e5 \u00f6ver till att bygga framtidens fusionskraftverk\u201d, s\u00e4ger Brandon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Med det sagt skulle entrepren\u00f6rer med erfarenhet av att arbeta med k\u00e4rnkraftverk i USA och globalt enligt Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan vara s\u00e4rskilt efterfr\u00e5gade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enligt honom kan avancerade byggmetoder ocks\u00e5 beh\u00f6vas, till exempel att b\u00e4dda in betong eller andra material i reaktorns skal med mycket sofistikerade monitorer som b\u00e5de kan \u00f6verf\u00f6ra data och vara sj\u00e4lvreparerande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrepren\u00f6rer som f\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande arbetar med att bygga k\u00e4rnkraftverk \u2013 vilka blir allt f\u00e4rre i USA p\u00e5 grund av det minskade byggandet av traditionella klyvningsanl\u00e4ggningar \u2013 skulle s\u00e4kerligen ha \u00f6verf\u00f6rbara f\u00e4rdigheter som kan ge dem ett f\u00f6rspr\u00e5ng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDe har redan stor erfarenhet av att arbeta med m\u00e5nga k\u00e4nsliga system som ger mycket mindre felmarginal\u201d, s\u00e4ger Ranganathan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>V\u00e4gen fram\u00e5t<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Det kan f\u00f6rst\u00e5s komma att ta \u00e4nnu l\u00e4ngre tid innan k\u00e4rnfusionsrevolutionen \u00e4r h\u00e4r \u2013 MIT arbetar enligt en mer aggressiv tidsplan \u00e4n andra forskare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fusionsexperimenten i det stora ITER-projektet, som USA och dussintals andra l\u00e4nder hj\u00e4lper till att finansiera, ska inte b\u00f6rja f\u00f6rr\u00e4n 2035 \u2013 om allt g\u00e5r bra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leo Holland p\u00e5 General Atomics tror att k\u00e4rnfusionen kommer att vara ig\u00e5ng n\u00e5gon g\u00e5ng mellan 2040- och 2060-talet. Om det ska ske tidigare beh\u00f6vs det mycket st\u00f6rre forskningsbidrag fr\u00e5n den amerikanska regeringen \u2013 ut\u00f6ver de avsev\u00e4rda belopp som redan har utlovats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet handlar om l\u00e5ng tid\u201d, s\u00e4ger Leo. \u201dOm vi kan jobba lite snabbare skulle vi kunna flytta byggplanerna ett eller tv\u00e5 decennier \u00e5t v\u00e4nster.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men n\u00e4r forskningen om k\u00e4rnfusion tar fart i USA och runt om i v\u00e4rlden kommer det sannolikt att leda till en \u00f6kad efterfr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 byggtj\u00e4nster l\u00e5ngt innan den f\u00f6rsta testreaktorn \u00e4r ig\u00e5ng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bara testreaktorn SPARC f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas kosta 500 miljoner dollar (cirka 4,3 miljarder kronor) att bygga. N\u00e4r man v\u00e4l har hittat en plats kommer det ocks\u00e5 att finnas behov av olika lokaler f\u00f6r forskning och h\u00f6gkvarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Och om Commonwealth Fusion Systems, det MIT-st\u00f6dda uppstartsf\u00f6retaget, f\u00e5r som de vill s\u00e5 kanske v\u00e4ntetiden inte blir tilln\u00e4rmelsevis s\u00e5 l\u00e5ng som vissa i branschen f\u00f6rutsp\u00e5r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dCFS f\u00f6rest\u00e4ller sig tusentals fusionskraftverk som levererar el till hela v\u00e4rlden\u201d, s\u00e4ger f\u00f6retagets talesperson Kristen Cullen. \u201dV\u00e5rt m\u00e5l \u00e4r att ha det f\u00f6rsta fusionskraftverket anslutet till eln\u00e4tet i b\u00f6rjan av 2030-talet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
