En stor del av Storbritanniens befintliga bostadsbest\u00e5nd, d\u00e4r somliga hus \u00e4r flera hundra \u00e5r gamla, l\u00e4cker ut v\u00e4rme i atmosf\u00e4ren genom ot\u00e4ta f\u00f6nster och v\u00e4ggar och tak med d\u00e5lig eller obefintlig isolering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eftermontering av energibesparande \u00e5tg\u00e4rder i s\u00e5dana hus \u00e4r en marknad v\u00e4rd m\u00e5nga miljoner pund, och det \u00e4r inte sv\u00e5rt att se varf\u00f6r n\u00e4r man t\u00e4nker p\u00e5 var problemet ligger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minska utsl\u00e4ppen med milj\u00f6v\u00e4nlig bostadsdesign<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Enligt Energy Saving Trust (EST) kommer&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/energysavingtrust.org.uk\/energy-at-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">omkring 22&nbsp;% av Storbritanniens koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp<\/a>&nbsp;fr\u00e5n bost\u00e4der.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det g\u00f6rs l\u00f6pande satsningar f\u00f6r att se till att milj\u00f6v\u00e4nliga bost\u00e4der designas s\u00e5 att de inte sl\u00f6sar energi genom \u00e5tg\u00e4rder som b\u00e4ttre v\u00e4ggisolering, dragfria f\u00f6nster och uppv\u00e4rmningssystem som har utformas f\u00f6r att vara mer effektiva och mindre skadliga f\u00f6r milj\u00f6n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Den brittiska regeringen uppm\u00e4rksammade det h\u00e4r problemet f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret d\u00e5 man lanserade &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/greener-homes-jobs-and-cheaper-bills-on-the-way-as-government-launches-biggest-upgrade-of-nations-buildings-in-a-generation#:~:text=Those%20homeowners%20with%20low%2Dincomes,efficiency%20of%20over%20600%2C000%20homes.&amp;text=%C2%A350%20million%20to%20improve%20the%20energy%20efficiency%20of%20social%20housing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Green Homes Grant<\/a>. Det \u00e4r ett bidrag som bostads\u00e4gare kan s\u00f6ka f\u00f6r att uppgradera sina bost\u00e4ders energieffektivitet och spara upp till 600&nbsp;\u00a3 (cirka 7&nbsp;000 kronor) varje \u00e5r.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men det h\u00e4r programmet f\u00f6r 1,5&nbsp;miljarder pund (cirka 17&nbsp;miljarder kronor) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/mar\/22\/uk-government-green-homes-grant-disastrous-mps-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">drogs in<\/a>&nbsp;i mars&nbsp;2021 efter att ha kritiserats f\u00f6r att vara f\u00f6r snabbt framtaget och inte tillr\u00e4ckligt genomt\u00e4nkt.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanken bakom den h\u00e4r typen av ekonomisk hj\u00e4lp \u00e4r dock tydlig.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-50573338\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tv\u00e5 tredjedelar av alla hem<\/a>&nbsp;i Storbritannien uppfyller inte de l\u00e5ngsiktiga m\u00e5len f\u00f6r energieffektivitet.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unders\u00f6kningar visar att fler \u00e4n 12 miljoner bost\u00e4der ligger under energiklass C i energideklarationen som graderas fr\u00e5n A\u2013G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det betyder att fastighets\u00e4garna inte bara betalar mer \u00e4n de beh\u00f6ver f\u00f6r sin energi \u2013 de pumpar dessutom ut tonvis med koldioxid i atmosf\u00e4ren helt i on\u00f6dan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Effektivitet och h\u00e5llbarhet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Det finns m\u00e5nga metoder f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra v\u00e5ra bost\u00e4ders energieffektivitet och h\u00e5llbarhet. Att s\u00e4tta in isolering \u00e4r en av de vanligaste \u00e5tg\u00e4rderna f\u00f6r befintliga hus, medan nya hem \u00e4r konstruerade f\u00f6r att vara mer luftt\u00e4ta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enligt svaren p\u00e5 en remiss fr\u00e5n den brittiska regeringen, \u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/656866\/BEIS_Update_of_Domestic_Cost_Assumptions_031017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What Does It Cost To Retrofit Homes<\/a>\u201d, ligger kostnaden f\u00f6r att isolera dubbelv\u00e4ggar mellan 25&nbsp;\u00a3 och 30&nbsp;\u00a3 (300\u2013360 kronor) per kvadratmeter, eller 350 pund (drygt 4&nbsp;000 kronor) per bostad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isolering av innerv\u00e4ggar kan kosta mellan 55&nbsp;\u00a3 och 140&nbsp;\u00a3 (650\u20131&nbsp;700 kronor) per kvadratmeter v\u00e4gg, vilket motsvarar 5&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 till 10&nbsp;400&nbsp;\u00a3 (60&nbsp;000\u2013125&nbsp;000 kronor) f\u00f6r ett mindre parhus. Det kan j\u00e4mf\u00f6ras med isolering av ytterv\u00e4ggar som kostar mellan 55&nbsp;\u00a3 och 180&nbsp;\u00a3 (650\u20132&nbsp;200 kronor) per kvadratmeter eller 7&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 till 9&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 (84&nbsp;000\u2013108&nbsp;000 kronor) totalt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enligt EST kan installation av&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/energysavingtrust.org.uk\/advice\/solid-wall-insulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">solid v\u00e4ggisolering<\/a>&nbsp;kosta mellan 8&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 och 10&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 (95&nbsp;000\u2013120&nbsp;000 kronor) f\u00f6r ett medelstort hem och ge besparingar p\u00e5 mellan 105&nbsp;\u00a3 och 375&nbsp;\u00a3 (1&nbsp;300\u20134&nbsp;500 kronor) per \u00e5r beroende p\u00e5 fastighetstyp.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EST till\u00e4gger att besparingar p\u00e5 mellan 425&nbsp;kg och 1&nbsp;540&nbsp;kg koldioxid per \u00e5r kan uppn\u00e5s med s\u00e5dana \u00e5tg\u00e4rder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sedan handlar det ocks\u00e5 om hur bostads\u00e4garna v\u00e4rmer upp sina hem. Som en del av arbetet med att minska koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen ska de gasdrivna systemen fasas ut fr\u00e5n nybyggen i Storbritannien senast till \u00e5rhundradets mitt,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.architectsjournal.co.uk\/news\/government-sets-out-targets-for-new-future-homes-standard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">som en del av Future Homes Standard<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">G\u00e5 p\u00e5 pumpen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.homebuilding.co.uk\/buying-guides\/how-to-choose-heat-pumps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">V\u00e4rmepumpar<\/a> blir allt vanligare. V\u00e4rmepumpar betraktas som \u201dren\u201d energi och anses vara en teknik som i stort sk\u00f6ter sig sj\u00e4lv efter installationen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det finns tv\u00e5 typer av v\u00e4rmepumpar: markv\u00e4rme och luftv\u00e4rme. En markv\u00e4rmepump har r\u00f6r som drar upp latent v\u00e4rme ur marken och kan kosta mellan 15&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 och 16&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 (180&nbsp;000\u2013190&nbsp;000 kronor), medan driftskostnaden f\u00f6r ett hus med fyra sovrum motsvarar 500&nbsp;\u00a3 (cirka 6&nbsp;000 kronor) per \u00e5r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternativt kan fastighets\u00e4garen installera en luftv\u00e4rmepump, som ser ut som en extern luftkonditioneringsenhet, och drar in v\u00e4rme fr\u00e5n luften och k\u00f6r den genom en v\u00e4rmev\u00e4xlare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En luftv\u00e4rmepump kan kosta mellan 10&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 och 11&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 (120&nbsp;000\u2013130&nbsp;000 kronor) och v\u00e4rmer upp ett hus med fyra sovrum f\u00f6r strax \u00f6ver 700&nbsp;\u00a3 (drygt 8&nbsp;000 kronor) per \u00e5r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En annan h\u00e5llbar energik\u00e4lla som m\u00e5nga k\u00e4nner till \u00e4r solenergi.&nbsp;En typisk&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.homebuilding.co.uk\/advice\/solar-panels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">solcellsinstallation<\/a>&nbsp;med 12 till 16 takmonterade paneler kan kosta mellan 5&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 och 8&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 (ca. 60&nbsp;000\u201370&nbsp;000 kronor).\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Andra s\u00e4tt att spara och effektivisera<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Det finns andra \u00e5tg\u00e4rder som man kan vidta f\u00f6r att g\u00f6ra ett hem mer h\u00e5llbart och som inte kostar s\u00e5 mycket, men kan ge besparingar p\u00e5 l\u00e4ngre sikt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LED-lampor f\u00f6rbrukar mindre energi \u00e4n konventionella gl\u00f6dlampor, men lyser lika starkt och bidrar till l\u00e4gre elf\u00f6rbrukning och billigare elr\u00e4kningar.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genom att t\u00e4ta sprickor och luckor runt d\u00f6rrar och f\u00f6nster kan man h\u00e5lla v\u00e4rmen inomhus och spara energi. Att isolera r\u00f6r och varmvattentankar kan g\u00f6ra att vattnet h\u00e5ller sig varmt l\u00e4ngre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Smarta termostater som justerar v\u00e4rmen i ett hem automatiskt beroende p\u00e5 anv\u00e4ndning och utomhustemperatur, kan ocks\u00e5 s\u00e4nka kostnaderna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bostadsbyggare inser den v\u00e4xande efterfr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 st\u00f6rre energieffektivitet och bost\u00e4der med mindre milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hur designar man ett milj\u00f6v\u00e4nligt hus?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.homebuilding.co.uk\/news\/right-to-build-day-study-reveals-one-in-three-people-interested-in-building-their-own-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Allt fler&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.homebuilding.co.uk\/news\/right-to-build-day-study-reveals-one-in-three-people-interested-in-building-their-own-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">som funderar p\u00e5 att bygga ett eget hus<\/a> v\u00e4ljer f\u00f6rresten&nbsp;att designa det med milj\u00f6v\u00e4nlig inredning och framtidss\u00e4kring i \u00e5tanke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Med hj\u00e4lp av moderna byggmetoder, till exempel tr\u00e4ramskonstruktion, kan man bygga ett eget hus f\u00f6r en kostnad mellan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homebuilding.co.uk\/ideas\/low-budget-homes-built-for-under-200000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">35&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 och 200&nbsp;000&nbsp;\u00a3 (cirka 400&nbsp;000 till 2,4&nbsp;miljoner kronor)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En av de mest v\u00e4lk\u00e4nda standarderna f\u00f6r l\u00e5g energif\u00f6rbrukning \u00e4r passivhus.
