De fr\u00e4msta bidragande faktorerna \u00e4r tillverkningen av kolintensiva byggmaterial som st\u00e5l och cement, samt de tunga transporter som kr\u00e4vs f\u00f6r att frakta material till byggplatsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e5 anv\u00e4ndarsidan av den byggda milj\u00f6n har energi- och klimatprestandan b\u00f6rjat f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttras, och d\u00e4rmed har fokus flyttats till p\u00e5verkan fr\u00e5n sj\u00e4lva byggprocessen. Nyligen genomf\u00f6rda arbeten i Sverige har gett nya insikter om hur man kan minska den.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det uppskattas att v\u00e4g- och vattenbyggnad och offentliga arbeten i Sverige st\u00e5r f\u00f6r en tredjedel av de \u00e5rliga utsl\u00e4ppen. Den h\u00f6ga siffran har f\u00e5tt Trafikverket att s\u00e4tta upp m\u00e5let att inga nettoutsl\u00e4pp av v\u00e4xthusgaser ska f\u00f6rekomma \u00e5r 2045. Trafikverket st\u00e4ller allt h\u00e5rdare klimatkrav vid upphandlingen av st\u00f6rre projekt, p\u00e5 de material som anv\u00e4nds och p\u00e5 framtida underh\u00e5ll. Men om man ska kunna uppn\u00e5 de h\u00e4r ambiti\u00f6sa m\u00e5len m\u00e5ste man b\u00f6rja arbeta mot dem redan nu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dVi kan inte v\u00e4nta l\u00e4ngre med att l\u00e4gga grunderna, planera, utveckla och skala upp\u201d, s\u00e4ger doktor Johan Rootz\u00e9n, forskare vid IVL Svenska Milj\u00f6institutet i G\u00f6teborg. F\u00f6r att ta reda p\u00e5 vilka som \u00e4r de mest effektiva \u00e5tg\u00e4rderna f\u00f6r att minska koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen fr\u00e5n byggbranschen och dess leveranskedjor under de n\u00e4rmaste \u00e5rtiondena har Johan och hans kollega, Ida Karlsson p\u00e5 institutionen f\u00f6r rymd-, geo- och milj\u00f6vetenskap vid Chalmers tekniska h\u00f6gskola, genomf\u00f6rt en <a href=\"https:\/\/reader.elsevier.com\/reader\/sd\/pii\/S1364032119308573?token=CA02EB1782C723F389A9CF14F8362B180EA6A029E71072AECEF151AD94D75475EABA74B036415841598B45E8D45A5081&amp;originRegion=us-east-1&amp;originCreation=20211129125842\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fallstudie av ett svenskt v\u00e4gbyggnadsprojekt<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bygga den stora bilden<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e5nga livscykelanalyser har gjorts f\u00f6r att bed\u00f6ma koldioxidavtrycket fr\u00e5n v\u00e4gbyggen eller delar av dem. Men f\u00e5 unders\u00f6kningar har till\u00e4mpat ett helt\u00e4ckande perspektiv p\u00e5 de alternativ som finns f\u00f6r att minska utsl\u00e4ppen av v\u00e4xthusgaser genom hela leveranskedjan f\u00f6r v\u00e4gbyggen. Forskarna l\u00e5nade sin metod fr\u00e5n kraftsektorn, d\u00e4r det \u00e4r vanligt att bed\u00f6ma olika scenarier utifr\u00e5n detaljerade resursfl\u00f6den och relaterade milj\u00f6effekter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det st\u00f6rsta v\u00e4rdet av forskningen \u00e4r att man har lagt till en tidsdimension f\u00f6r att se vilka begr\u00e4nsnings\u00e5tg\u00e4rder som beh\u00f6ver vidtas f\u00f6r att uppfylla m\u00e5len f\u00f6r utsl\u00e4ppsminskningen om man bygger samma v\u00e4g om fem, tio eller tjugofem \u00e5r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kartl\u00e4gga leveranskedjans fl\u00f6den<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Projektet fokuserade p\u00e5 en ny, \u00e5tta kilometer l\u00e5ng str\u00e4cka av riksv\u00e4g 44 mitt i Sverige, som stod klar 2019. F\u00f6r att fastst\u00e4lla k\u00e4llorna till utsl\u00e4pp av v\u00e4xthusgaser anv\u00e4nde Trafikverket och entrepren\u00f6ren ett slags verktyg f\u00f6r ber\u00e4kning av \u201dklimatfotavtryck\u201d. Verktyget ber\u00e4knar energif\u00f6rbrukning och klimatp\u00e5verkan med hj\u00e4lp av utsl\u00e4ppsfaktorer tillsammans med resursmallar och projektspecifik information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dModellens utdata gav oss en grund f\u00f6r att kartl\u00e4gga fl\u00f6det av material och energi i hela leveranskedjan\u201d, f\u00f6rklarar Johan Rootz\u00e9n. Detta omfattade de material och den energi som anv\u00e4ndes f\u00f6r att producera byggmaterialen, liksom energi och br\u00e4nsle f\u00f6r transport- och byggtj\u00e4nster. F\u00f6ljande aktiviteter i leveranskedjan hade st\u00f6rst klimatp\u00e5verkan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Produktion och anv\u00e4ndning av st\u00e5l<\/li><li>Produktion och anv\u00e4ndning av cement och betong<\/li><li>Produktion och l\u00e4ggning av asfalt<\/li><li>Tunga transporter<\/li><li>Byggprocesser<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Forskargruppen \u00f6verv\u00e4gde fem olika scenarier, men det huvudsakliga \u201dtransformativa scenariot\u201d bestod av en omfattande portf\u00f6lj av minsknings\u00e5tg\u00e4rder f\u00f6r samtliga aktiviteter i leveranskedjan med en omfattning som \u00f6kade \u00f6ver tid. Andra scenarier testade k\u00e4nsligheten f\u00f6r f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar i kritiska begr\u00e4nsnings\u00e5tg\u00e4rder, som att inte anv\u00e4nda biobr\u00e4nslen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Uppn\u00e5 kortsiktiga och l\u00e5ngsiktiga m\u00e5l<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Bland de omedelbara m\u00f6jligheterna till minskning finns f\u00f6ljande:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>L\u00e4gre produktionstemperatur och h\u00f6gre \u00e5tervinningsgrad f\u00f6r asfalt<\/li><li>Anv\u00e4ndning av skrotbaserat st\u00e5l<\/li><li>Anv\u00e4ndning av klinkersubstitut i betong<\/li><li>\u00d6verg\u00e5ng till biomassabaserade br\u00e4nslen f\u00f6r maskiner, transporter och produktionsanl\u00e4ggningar<\/li><li>Anv\u00e4ndning av hybrid byggutrustning<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e5 l\u00e4ngre sikt m\u00e5ste \u00e5tg\u00e4rderna f\u00f6r att minska utsl\u00e4ppen fokusera p\u00e5:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Elektrifiering av byggutrustning<\/li><li>Anv\u00e4ndning av hybrida eller elektrifierade massa- och materialtransporter<\/li><li>Anv\u00e4ndning av avskiljning och lagring av kol f\u00f6r produktion av cementklinker samt st\u00e5lverksutsl\u00e4pp<\/li><li>Kommersialisering av nya teknologier som direkt v\u00e4tereduktion av j\u00e4rnmalm med v\u00e4te som framst\u00e4lls genom f\u00f6rnybar el<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Det transformativa scenariot visar att det \u00e4r m\u00f6jligt att halvera utsl\u00e4ppen av v\u00e4xthusgaser genom att anv\u00e4nda den b\u00e4sta teknik som finns tillg\u00e4nglig i dag. Trots det \u201d\u00e4r det ingen som halverar utsl\u00e4ppen idag\u201d, s\u00e4ger Johan Rootz\u00e9n. \u201dKraven \u00e4r fortfarande f\u00f6r slappa, och man tj\u00e4nar inte tillr\u00e4ckligt p\u00e5 att uppn\u00e5 dem. Kostnader och andra hinder spelar ocks\u00e5 in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Den svenska byggbranschen \u00e4r dessutom fortsatt riskovillig och det tar l\u00e5ng tid att anamma nya innovationer \u2013 n\u00e5got som \u00e4r en utmaning i hela v\u00e4rlden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Uppfylla potentialen<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Den h\u00e4r analysen visar att v\u00e4gbyggnadsbranschen kan uppfylla de minimim\u00e5l f\u00f6r utsl\u00e4ppsminskning som Sverige kr\u00e4ver. F\u00f6r att kunna g\u00f6ra det m\u00e5ste s\u00e5v\u00e4l offentliga som privata upphandlare genomf\u00f6ra \u00e5tg\u00e4rder, d\u00e4ribland att anv\u00e4nda nya teknologier f\u00f6r cement- och st\u00e5lproduktion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dUpphandlingskraven \u00e4r ett s\u00e4tt att signalera att det finns en marknad f\u00f6r l\u00f6sningar med l\u00e4gre utsl\u00e4pp\u201d, f\u00f6rklarar Johan. \u201dVi m\u00e5ste hitta s\u00e4tt att sprida riskerna med l\u00f6sningarna, liksom kostnaderna f\u00f6r att utveckla dem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet som framtr\u00e4der \u00e4r ett behov av att f\u00f6rbereda sig f\u00f6r mer djupg\u00e5ende minskningar redan nu, och att noga \u00f6verv\u00e4ga hur man kommer dit och samtidigt undviker sv\u00e5righeter p\u00e5 v\u00e4gen\u201d, till\u00e4gger han. \u201dExempel p\u00e5 problem kan vara att man f\u00f6rlitar sig f\u00f6r mycket p\u00e5 biobr\u00e4nslen som kan vara en bristvara i vissa regioner eller att vissa kostnadsoptimeringar inte kan skalas upp till den niv\u00e5 som kr\u00e4vs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mer \u00e4n h\u00e4lften av den urbana infrastruktur som kommer att finnas \u00e5r 2050 har inte byggts \u00e4n, enligt den <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resourcepanel.org\/reports\/weight-cities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">internationella resurspanelen<\/a>, som \u00e4r en del av FN:s milj\u00f6program. Den prognosen borde inneb\u00e4ra o\u00e4ndligt m\u00e5nga nya projekt f\u00f6r byggentrepren\u00f6rerna, men f\u00f6r att uppfylla kraven p\u00e5 koldioxidminskning m\u00e5ste alla som ing\u00e5r i
