Men det finns en stad som g\u00f6r saker annorlunda. H\u00e4r \u00e4r det cykeln som regerar p\u00e5 gatorna, och stadsplaneringen fokuserar p\u00e5 tv\u00e5hjuliga fordon snarare \u00e4n bussar, t\u00e5g eller bilar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staden i fr\u00e5ga \u00e4r naturligtvis Amsterdam. Nederl\u00e4ndernas huvudstad betraktas ofta som v\u00e4rldens cykelhuvudstad, och inledde en omfattande strategi f\u00f6r att investera i cykelbanor och annan infrastruktur f\u00f6r cyklar p\u00e5 1970-talet. Idag \u00e4r staden k\u00e4nd f\u00f6r att ha fler cyklar \u00e4n inv\u00e5nare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Built har pratat med Oriol Casas Cancer, som \u00e4r del\u00e4gare och arkitekt p\u00e5 wUrck studios. F\u00f6retaget har precis f\u00e4rdigst\u00e4llt Amsterdams senaste investering i \u201dcykelbarhet\u201d: v\u00e4rldens st\u00f6rsta parkeringshus f\u00f6r cyklar under vattnet. Vi diskuterade den h\u00e4r ambiti\u00f6sa investeringen i stadens cyklingsframtid och vad andra st\u00e4der kan g\u00f6ra f\u00f6r att f\u00f6lja i Amsterdams fotsp\u00e5r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Inspirerad av omgivningen<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Som Oriol Casas Cancer f\u00f6rklarar var wUrcks cykelparkeringsprojekt bara en del av en st\u00f6rre, ambiti\u00f6s renovering av Amsterdams ikoniska centralstation, Amsterdam Centraal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dCykelparkeringen ing\u00e5r i projektet De Entree, d\u00e4r man f\u00f6rnyade hela stationsomr\u00e5det p\u00e5 den sida som vetter mot staden\u201d, s\u00e4ger Oriol. \u201dParkeringshuset \u00e4r v\u00e4rldens f\u00f6rsta undervattensparkering f\u00f6r cyklar, och designen betonar dess l\u00e4ge under vattenytan. Vi h\u00e4mtade inspiration till m\u00e5nga av v\u00e5ra designbeslut fr\u00e5n vattnet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ing\u00e5ngen till parkeringen ligger mer \u00e4n nio meter under vattnet. Ovanf\u00f6r undervattensrampen som leder till ing\u00e5ngen passerar kanalb\u00e5tar med turister. \u201dF\u00f6r att \u00f6verbrygga h\u00f6jdskillnaden designade vi en monumental entr\u00e9 av h\u00f6gkvalitativa material\u201d, s\u00e4ger Oriol. \u201dRulltrappor leder anv\u00e4ndaren ner utmed en v\u00e4gg som \u00e4r utformad som en forts\u00e4ttning av kajv\u00e4ggen med en fl\u00f6dande form av karg basaltsten, och en h\u00f6g glasv\u00e4gg innanf\u00f6r ing\u00e5ngen s\u00e4kerst\u00e4ller att det djupt liggande parkeringshuset fortfarande f\u00e5r dagsljus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.bluebeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Bicycle-parking-Amsterdam-Areal-artist-impression-project-area-900x506.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-86046\" style=\"width:750px\" width=\"750\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">En rendering av projektet. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Enligt Oriol Casas Cancer blev ostron en ov\u00e4ntad k\u00e4lla till visuell inspiration f\u00f6r designteamet. \u201dMedan materialen i huvuding\u00e5ngen \u00e4r robusta och grova, \u00e4r parkeringshuset bakom den en sl\u00e4t och ljus v\u00e4rld, med ett belagt gjutet golv och ett s\u00f6ml\u00f6st vitt tak\u201d, s\u00e4ger han.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet \u00e4r en kontrast som p\u00e5minner om ett ostron med sitt skrovliga skal och sin sl\u00e4ta insida. Inom den h\u00e4r metaforen kan avdelningen som innefattar administrat\u00f6rsrummet och cykelservicest\u00e4llet betraktas som p\u00e4rlan i ostronet. Avdelningen \u00e4r byggd av b\u00f6jt glas och ligger p\u00e5 en central, strategiskt utvald plats intill receptionen och med utsikt \u00f6ver hela parkeringshuset.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oriol s\u00e4ger: \u201dDet som \u00e4r s\u00e5 speciellt med det h\u00e4r projektet \u00e4r att det ligger under vattnet. Vattnet har d\u00e4rf\u00f6r f\u00e5tt bli det som b\u00e4r parkeringshusets identitet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Utmaningarna med att bygga under vatten<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>De Entree-projektet \u00e4r inte bara v\u00e4rldens f\u00f6rsta undervattensparkering f\u00f6r cyklar \u2013 den beh\u00f6vde ocks\u00e5 vara mycket st\u00f6rre \u00e4n tidigare cykelparkeringshus. \u00c4ven om staden hade investerat i cykelbanor \u00e4nda sedan 1970-talet, hade parkeringsm\u00f6jligheterna f\u00f6r cyklar f\u00f6rblivit en aning utspridda \u00f6ver staden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet enorma antalet cyklar som anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r att resa \u00e4r mycket positivt f\u00f6r staden, men det skapar stora problem i det offentliga utrymmet runt stationen\u201d, f\u00f6rklarar Oriol Casas Cancer. \u201dDet \u00e4r d\u00e4rf\u00f6r som cykelparkeringar f\u00f6r storstadsstationer i allm\u00e4nhet byggs under jord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eftersom platsen \u00e4r omgiven av vatten, beh\u00f6vde teamet p\u00e5 wUrck t\u00e4nka kreativt kring tekniker f\u00f6r undervattensbyggande om de skulle f\u00e5 plats med 7&nbsp;000 av de ungef\u00e4r 24&nbsp;000 cykelparkeringsplatser som pendlarna p\u00e5 Amsterdam Centraal beh\u00f6vde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.bluebeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/wUrck_Fietsenstalling-Stationsplein-Amsterdam_Aiste-Rakauskaite-Photography_1-900x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-86048\" style=\"width:750px\" width=\"750\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">En vy av det f\u00e4rdiga projektet.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Att man skulle bli tvungen att bygga under vattnet var uppenbart, men inte enkelt. \u201dAtt bygga under vatten \u00e4r definitivt komplicerat\u201d, s\u00e4ger Oriol. \u201dF\u00f6r att torka byggropen k\u00f6rde man ner spontar runt schaktningsomr\u00e5det, varefter gropen \u2013 fortfarande vattenfylld \u2013 gr\u00e4vdes ut till tio meter under markniv\u00e5.\u201d Efter schaktningen g\u00f6t man \u201dett tjockt lager oarmerad undervattensbetong i en kontinuerlig gjutning\u201d, s\u00e4ger Oriol. \u201dEfter h\u00e4rdningen pumpade man byggropen tom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det var f\u00f6rst d\u00e5, efter tv\u00e5 \u00e5rs f\u00f6rberedelser, som man kunde b\u00f6rja bygga sj\u00e4lva parkeringshuset. \u201dEtt arbetsgolv g\u00f6ts f\u00f6rst ovanp\u00e5 lagret med undervattensbetong, f\u00f6ljt av ett lager armerat betonggolv\u201d, s\u00e4ger Oriol. \u201dDe f\u00f6rtillverkade pelarna st\u00f6der tillsammans med betongv\u00e4ggarna ett platsgjutet betongtak. En vattent\u00e4t yta har applicerats ovanp\u00e5 taket. Innerv\u00e4ggarna \u00e4r byggda av exponerad betong med tr\u00e4formar. Trapporna och de r\u00f6rliga g\u00e5ngv\u00e4garna \u00e4r t\u00e4ckta av robusta material (natursten, basalt och m\u00e4ssing).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men f\u00f6r Oriol Casas Cancer och hans team var projektet v\u00e4rt de stora anstr\u00e4ngningarna. \u201dParkeringshuset har blivit ett slags visitkort f\u00f6r staden och ett exempel p\u00e5 dess ambitionsniv\u00e5 n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller cykeltransporter\u201d, s\u00e4ger han. \u201dDesignen g\u00e5r l\u00e4ngre \u00e4n att bara f\u00f6rverkliga en funktionell anl\u00e4ggning och utnyttjar det unika l\u00e4gets m\u00f6jligheter f\u00f6r att projicera Amsterdams historia och stadens relation till vattnet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Inspiration till en cykelv\u00e4nligare framtid<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Som f\u00f6respr\u00e5kare f\u00f6r mer cyklingsbara stadsutrymmen hoppas Oriol Casas Cancer att cykelparkeringsprojektet kan bli en f\u00f6rebild f\u00f6r andra st\u00e4der v\u00e4rlden \u00f6ver \u2013 och allt b\u00f6rjar med att g\u00f6ra en cykelv\u00e4nlig infrastruktur till en del av stadsbilden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dCykelparkeringar, broar och s\u00e5 vidare bidrar till en h\u00e5llbar, h\u00e4lsosam och beboelig milj\u00f6, och har ett positivt inflytande p\u00e5 mobilitet, trafikstockningar, h\u00e4lsa och den lokala ekonomin\u201d, s\u00e4ger Oriol. \u201dGenom att ge cyklister tillg\u00e5ng till en s\u00e4ker och bekv\u00e4m f\u00f6rvaringsplats bidrar v\u00e5r parkering till att fr\u00e4mja cykling som ett h\u00e5llbart och h\u00e4lsosamt transportmedel. Det leder till mindre biltrafik och f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrad trafiks\u00e4kerhet f\u00f6r alla trafikanter, och till en minskning av koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen och luftf\u00f6roreningarna.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.bluebeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/wUrck_Fietsenstalling-Stationsplein-Amsterdam_Aiste-Rakauskaite-Photography_12-900x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-86049\" style=\"width:750px\" width=\"750\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Parkeringshuset rymmer upp till 25 000 cyklar.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Enligt Oriol Casas Cancer beh\u00f6ver projekt som wUrcks undervattensparkering f\u00f6r cyklar bli en del av ett st\u00f6rre samtal om kultur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet b\u00f6rjar med att f\u00f6r\u00e4ndra det kulturella syns\u00e4ttet i det specifika samh\u00e4lle som stadens inv\u00e5nare lever i\u201d, s\u00e4ger han. \u201dI vissa st\u00e4der anv\u00e4nds cykeln bara f\u00f6r rekreation. I l\u00e4nder som Nederl\u00e4nderna anv\u00e4nds cykeln \u00e4ven som huvudsakligt transportsystem, eller f\u00f6r att ta sig till kollektivtrafiken.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hur \u00e4ndrar vi det h\u00e4r syns\u00e4ttet? Enligt Oriol b\u00f6rjar det med stadsplanering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dDet f\u00f6rsta steget \u00e4r att sakta men s\u00e4kert ers\u00e4tta bilens utrymme med ett bra n\u00e4tverk av cykelv\u00e4gar som \u00e4r v\u00e4l anslutna till kollektivtrafik och parkeringsnav. St\u00e4derna m\u00e5ste satsa p\u00e5 det h\u00e4r n\u00e4tverket i kombination med relativt billiga m\u00f6jligheter till cykeldelning och s\u00e4kra parkeringsm\u00f6jligheter\u201d, s\u00e4ger han. \u201dM\u00e4nniskor kommer att \u00f6ka sin anv\u00e4ndning av de h\u00e4r h\u00e5llbara transportsystemen om de \u00e4r effektiva och bekv\u00e4ma.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
