23 June is International Women in Engineering Day. The day highlights the talents of female engineers and also throws light on engineering as a potential career path for those young women who want to work in the sector but think it might be an exclusively male world.

Women make up just over half of the UK population, but fewer than one-fifth work in construction. A month dedicated to highlighting women’s contribution to the sector aims to change long-held bias and outdated perceptions.
